Abuja: Court Dismisses Motion On Ministers Inauguration.

Aoc: the federal high court maitama in abuja, has declined to stop president muhammadu buhari from proceeding with the inauguration of 43 ministerial nominees recently confirmed by the nigerian senate.

Delivering ruling on an exparte motion, the presiding judge justice taiwo taiwo says the applicants filed the motion out of time. Olabode arewa reports.

Narration:-citing sections 14(3) & 147 of the 1999 constitution as amended, musa baba- panya, an indigene of karu community in the fct approached the court for an order to stop the president from inaugurating his 43 ministers designate, citing alleged refusal by the president to obey a march 15,2018 appeal court judgement, which directed that an abuja indigene should also be appointed as a minister.

Justice taiwo taiwo noted that while it was the fundamental right of the applicant to file the motion, the court in its discretion cannot stop the president from inaugurating the ministers, since they have been screened by the senate.

Justice taiwo directed the baba-panya to personally serve the court processes on the president and attorney general of the federation. The case is adjourned indefinitely.
