What Is The Rule Established For Age Difference Between Couples?

Embed

Everyone has an acceptable minimum to maximum age of selecting a partner, there is no standard measure to say maximum but there has been a rule called the ‘half your age plus seven’. This rules states that by dividing your own age by two and then adding seven you can find the socially-acceptable minimum age of anyone you want to date.  So if you’re a 24 year-old, you can feel free to be with anyone who is at least 19 (i.e., 12 + 7) but not someone who is 18.

But arguably age is just a number and maturity is what really matters in a relationship, we always come across partners of different ages who fall in love with each other, I know couples who are having an age difference of 12 years and yet lead a wonderful life.

We truly can't help with whom we fall in love. Love doesn't care if someone is older or younger, but we certainly do.

I have always felt better dating older girls so I always ended up attracting them, it’s not an ego thing but I feel fulfilled relating with a mature lady than someone I feel is less experienced.

They say love is blind, but huge age difference between couples makes their relationship very stressful. When the age gap is between twenty years, such marriages have a very short life span. Four to eight years is perfect. Ten years is also bit too much. But it might work. When you marry your age both are able to relate to your feelings much better.

Over time, the people who are married to a much older or younger spouse tend to have larger declines in marital satisfaction over time compared to those who are married to spouses who are similar in age,

it has shown that age difference can also be a factor in marriages because
research has shown that certain age gaps are more likely to end in tears.
